We are usually much better at keeping this blog updated but Sugar Mafia has been busy busy busy! So keeping it short and sweet, here is what’s new this Spring 2009!

Sugar Mafia & Callowlily Collaboration!  It’s been flying out the door so get yours while you can before June 20th! You have three ‘Famous Dames’ to choose from, Marie, Mary and Cleo! We couldn’t be more thrilled with how this collaboration turned out!

CALLOWLILY COLLECTION

Three small collections built upon the above collaboration allows for several coordinating choices! ‘Let Them Eat Cake’, ‘Miraculous Bohemian’, and ‘Egyptian Queen’. So much fun creating this entire collection for you!

To the mix, we threw in ‘Delicious Cupcake’ for something extra fabulous and yummy! And if that wasn’t enough…check out all the bling rings that are pouring in! We have much more in store, so lots of newness coming Sugar Lovers! Little extras here and there just for you! Hard Candy line has expanded to rings, oh my! So many ideas and so much to do! Summer collection is in the works and well, that is enough for now!

The one and only artist Callowlily herself wearing Luxury Size ‘Marie’ Cameo Necklace.

I am elated and honoured to be working with artist CallowLily on Sugar Mafia’s next collaboration project. I have been a huge fan of her work since the moment I laid my eyes on it. It is the sweetest, most colourful addictive eye candy that you can never get enough of. Each one of her pieces exudes passion and thought provoking ecstasy, each stroke with masterful intent. Her genius brain is gorgeous. I know she will be revered as one of the most highly talented artists of our time. She is above everything, one of the nicest people with a heart of gold.

She approached me a long while back and I was thrilled! She makes her own jewelry and accessories so I would never even have thought to ask her because of that.  So, the timing was not exactly right then but I knew this would be something really special. I finally got back to her and was tickled pink when she was still interested! I had some ideas of some ‘Famous Dames’ as she calls them, iconic women that we have all related to over hundreds of years. I wanted to play on them a bit, modernizing and glamorizing them for today’s punk rock princesses and sugary sweet diva’s, something really special for Sugar Mafia Customers. She has blown me away, as usual.

I have planned my Spring ‘09 Collections around each of them i.e. ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ is inspired by… first up…Marie Antoinette. Stay tuned for the rest <3
